★Organizing for Healing Justice During a Global Pandemic★

We hope you are all well, and that this post finds in good health and in strong Spirit ♡
The prophecies are unfolding...the Earth is uprising! When you know something really needs to be done for reasons of integrity and righteousness, and you don’t do it yourself, the spiritual forces will make it happen for you (and sometimes in ways that are truly destabilizing and painful). This is what we believe is taking place at this moment. The global "we" has known for far too long that the modern, western, extractive way of life was burning our collective candle at both ends. A globalized, capitalistic and neocolonial economy combined with severe degradation of Earth’s natural systems & habitats have made it possible for this pandemic to occur and are intensifying and accelerating the spread of COVID-19. Not to mention our inept US government’s response…flailing in an attempt to continue business as usual and uphold the current economic “stimulation” model when it’s clear that capitalism isn’t working. Meanwhile public health is put on the back burner and nurse midwives and grocery store workers become “frontline” workers of this pandemic. And because the globalized extractive economy has set ecological disruption in motion, we can expect more pandemics in the coming years… We are grateful for the veils being removed about the unsustainability of this economic model. We pray for the spiritual forces to continue showing us the hard truths about how we need to transition back to/towards more localized and ecologically guided trade-sheds and way of life. Evidence is showing that people may not become immune to COVID-19, and the virus has already transformed and taken on multiple “molecular identities” or strands. This is a long-term game. The level of biodiversity loss will regenerate, but at a pace that we can’t actually witness. Evolution is a s l o w process. We know things are evolving, but we don’t know exactly how. The transition will not always be easy, but our future generations will offer enormous prayers of gratitude for the work we did us to ensure they have a future they can enjoy on this beautiful Earth! The HCC Core feels united in our perspective that while the majority of the world is talking about and treating the Coronoavirus like an enemy of humanity, we acknowledge this micro-life as one of our relatives that was also born of stardust and birthed by our mother, the ocean. Our collective spiritual teachings tell us that in order to bring peace to any "conflict" or with an "antagonist" the only solution is to send Love to that being...make it offerings and acknowledge its rightful presence in our universe and world. And that in this manner, according to Universal Law, that being will reflect that Love. We can all make offerings in this way, carefully, without daring to interfere with the Earth's rightful uprising and the space to cleanse that She is taking right now. We invite you to join us in making prayers & offerings, if it resonates with you, in order to increase the good vibration and help neutralize the harmful impact of COVID-19. |
So, what is our role as healing justice advocates, organizers and providers? We have new opportunities now in COVID-19 moment to use our collective skills, medicines and healing modalities in an organized way to support our network members. Our general orientation towards responding to this moment is…
1. Generating positive energy: Use our access to and relationship with spiritual energy to support the energetic, spiritual and psychological dimensions of this moment. Make prayers, make offerings! Whether that's dedicated prayer, providing community relationships-based mediation or counseling, sharing the food u grow and your plant medicines, doing remote energy work/counseling/consultations/guided self-help and more. What’s powerful is when we're present w each other as a network (of people) broadcasting our own offerings, and also present and supporting the prayers, work and offerings of those you are consciously staying connected to – so let’s stay tuned in with each other, and with this whole Network group, including those that couldn’t join us today. Together we can beware of broadcasting fear, and instead generate LOVE and encourage a vibrational shift so that the general public is not stuck in fear when the shelter-in-place is lifted and the time comes to both support the good changes and resist some of the oppressive changes. On this note, we want to invite our community to be mindful of the language we use right now, since words breed thoughts, and thoughts produce energy... We encourage people to use terms like "Safety Solidarity" instead of "Quarantine" and "Physical Spacing" instead of "Social Distancing". Because, we don't want to become socially distant, we need to collaborate to meet our needs. And we don't want to be locked down by force, but rather choose the option to do what is best for the communities we are a part of, and remain in solidarity with our vulnerable human relatives. We gotta be ready! Let’s continue to be forces of Light & Love in all the ways!! 2. Be collective change makers as healers at this time, and adapt to the moment. To the extent possible, the HCC will continue to play the important role that we play in the movement in our communities, and at this time specifically show how we can be resilient: keep our core function working while we adapt to current conditions. Remotely & online… 3. Mutual aid. How can we focus our attention & contributions as a community? There are certain communities that are being hit hardest at this time. HCC’s is planning to garner support for our Network member who have and continue to give so so much! We are also considering mutual aid offerings we can organize for some of the most vulnerable communities among us, such as frontline workers (nurses, midwives, grocery store workers, etc.), the disability community, elder community, undocumented folks & Black communities here in the East Bay and Bay Area at large. |
